Kerala man acquitted in POCSO case over daughter's assault allegations

Kerala man acquitted in POCSO case over daughter's assault allegations

A man in Kerala, India, was in trouble with the law because someone said he did a very bad thing to his daughter.

The police arrested him, and he had to stay in jail for a very long time, more than one and a half years.

A special court that hears cases about protecting children listened to the story.

The daughter said her father hurt her, but the father said the story was not true.

He said his daughter's boyfriend and his family made up the story to get him in trouble.

He believed this happened because he objected to his daughter's relationship with that boyfriend.

Many people were asked to talk to the court, and many papers were shown as evidence.

The judge said the evidence did not prove that the man did the bad thing.

So the judge said the man was not guilty and let him go free.

In the end, the court decided the man should not be punished.
