SIAM Launches Road Accident Reduction Challenge 2026
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has started a big competition called the National Road Accident Reduction Challenge 2026.
This competition is for college students in India.
The goal is to find new ideas to make roads safer and reduce accidents.
Teams of students can come up with solutions like better technology, improved roads, or new safety rules.
The best team will win ₹2.50 lakh.
Students need to submit their ideas by March 1, 2026.
A group of experts will then choose the best ideas.
This competition is part of SIAM's effort to make roads safer for everyone.
SIAM launched the National Road Accident Reduction Challenge 2026 to encourage undergraduate students to develop solutions for reducing road accidents in India.
The competition is open to teams of 2-4 undergraduate students from recognized institutions, with a cash prize of ₹2.50 lakh for the winning team.
Participants must submit a 15-20 slide concept deck supported by fieldwork, data validation, prototypes, pilots, or interviews by March 1, 2026.
The competition focuses on themes like user-centric interventions, technology-driven safety, infrastructure improvement, and evaluation and enforcement.
