Thailand and Cambodia Agree to Ceasefire Talks
Thailand and Cambodia have been fighting near their border for almost three weeks.
Many people have been hurt or killed, and over half a million Cambodians have had to leave their homes.
Leaders from nearby countries, including the United States and China, tried to stop the fighting.
Now, Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to talk about stopping the fight.
They will meet on December 24 to discuss how to make peace.
Both countries blame each other for starting the fight and say the other side is not following the rules.
Other countries, like China, are also trying to help stop the fighting.
Thailand and Cambodia agreed to hold talks on December 24 to resume a ceasefire after three weeks of border fighting.
The conflict has resulted in at least 80 deaths, with Cambodia reporting 21 civilian deaths and 83 injuries.
ASEAN foreign ministers urged both countries to exercise restraint and halt fighting, welcoming the planned meeting.
The U.S. and China have been involved in diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict, but the decision for bilateral talks was made independently by Thailand and Cambodia.
Both countries accuse each other of aggression and violations of a previous ceasefire agreement.
