Floods Sweep Five Elephants Toward Barrage in Uttar Pradesh
Five wild elephants were caught in very strong floodwater.
The group included three adults and two young calves.
The water pushed them toward a dangerous barrage.
The adult elephants stayed close to the calves instead of leaving them.
Forest and irrigation workers worked together to help them.
They lowered the water flow to make the rescue safer.
Then they guided the elephants toward the riverbank and a forest.
All five elephants got out alive.
Three adult elephants and two calves were swept into powerful floodwaters near the Girijapuri Barrage.
The adults stayed beside the calves as the current carried the herd downstream.
Forest officials and the Irrigation Department coordinated the rescue operation.
Officials reduced the barrage’s water flow before guiding the elephants toward the riverbank.
All five elephants survived and were moved to a safer forested area.
