Manjhi Denies Election Rigging Amid Controversy
There's a big argument between Jitan Ram Manjhi, a Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Bihar, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
The RJD says Manjhi won an election in 2020 by cheating, and they shared a video where he supposedly admits this.
Manjhi says the video is fake and was changed to make him look bad.
The RJD is also upset with the Election Commission, saying they are corrupt.
Manjhi's party is part of the ruling coalition in Bihar.
The RJD's ally, the Congress, has also been saying that the BJP and the Election Commission stole votes.
Manjhi says he is now a well-known figure and won't be scared by such accusations.
Bihar's Industry and Road Construction Minister Dilip Jaiswal defended Manjhi, saying his statement was misinterpreted and twisted.
Jaiswal claimed that Manjhi was referring to election observers delaying results, not rigging votes.
He also pointed out that the NDA lost several seats by narrow margins, which wouldn't have happened if they could manipulate results.
The controversy has intensified political tensions in Bihar, with opposition parties demanding accountability and ruling NDA alliance leaders dismissing the allegations as politically motivated.
RJD accuses Jitan Ram Manjhi of winning the 2020 Tikri seat election through rigging, supported by a video.
Manjhi denies allegations, claiming the video was tampered with to defame him.
RJD targets the Election Commission, alleging corruption and election rigging.
Manjhi's party, Hindustani Awam Morcha, is part of the ruling coalition in Bihar.
Congress, an ally of RJD, has been alleging vote theft by the BJP and the Election Commission.
