China Launches Military Drills Around Taiwan
China is doing big military exercises around Taiwan to show they are ready for any threats and to warn against Taiwan becoming independent.
They are using their army, navy, air force, and rockets.
Taiwan says these exercises are scary and a threat to peace.
China is upset because the US sold weapons to Taiwan and because Japan's leader said Japan might help Taiwan if China tries to take it by force.
Taiwan has put its own military on alert to respond to China's exercises.
China says these drills are to protect their country and keep it united.
Taiwan, on the other hand, says it is already an independent country and only its people can decide their future.
China is conducting military drills around Taiwan involving its army, navy, air force, and rocket forces.
The drills, named 'Justice Mission 2025', are a response to a US arms deal with Taiwan and remarks by Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
China claims the drills are to test combat readiness and send a serious warning against Taiwanese independence.
Taiwan condemns the drills as military intimidation and a threat to regional stability, deploying appropriate forces in response.
The drills are taking place in five blocks of ocean around Taiwan, with sea and airspace restrictions for 10 hours from 8:30 am local time.
