KMC Launches Drainage Project with ADB Funding in Kolkata
The Kolkata government is starting a big project to build new drainage pipes in several areas.
This project will cover 137km of roads in places like Sarsuna, Joka, and near EM Bypass.
The money for this project, which is about ₹2,500 crore, mostly comes from a loan from the Asian Development Bank.
The goal is to improve how sewage is handled, which will also include cleaning the sewage before it goes into canals.
The project is expected to be finished by 2032.
This is to replace old methods of draining sewage without treatment.
KMC will build 137km of drainage lines in Sarsuna, Joka, and along EM Bypass.
