Palantir Co-Founder Dismisses AI Risks as Industry Leaders Warn

Some people who build artificial intelligence are worried that it could become too powerful to control.

Jacob Coxon, who left Anthropic, said some insiders fear AI could cause enormous harm by the end of the decade.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said companies should slow down the development of AI systems.

He said AI is improving quickly because it can help build newer AI.

Amodei warned that this progress might become faster than people’s ability to understand and control it.

Several technology leaders agreed with him.

Joe Lonsdale disagreed with the alarmist tone and said the world would be alright.

He also said leaders should handle the risks responsibly without unnecessarily scaring people.
