Supreme Court Upholds Acquittal in Nithari Killings
The Supreme Court has agreed with the High Court's decision to let Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli go free in the Nithari killings case.
This means they are not guilty, even though they were previously accused of terrible crimes.
The Supreme Court said there wasn't enough proof to say they did it.
Although Pandher is now free, Koli will stay in jail for another case related to the killings, where he was previously found guilty.
Supreme Court upheld the Allahabad High Court’s acquittal of Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli.
The court dismissed 14 appeals from the CBI and victims' families challenging the High Court's ruling.
The Nithari killings took place in Noida's Nithari village between 2005-2006.
A trial court convicted Koli in 12 cases and Pandher in two, which were later overturned.
The Supreme Court found no fault with the High Court's decision, citing lack of evidence.
