Pune Civic Body Plans Parking near Metro Stations Independently
The city of Pune is planning to build parking lots near the metro stations.
Instead of letting the metro develop the parking, the city government will do it themselves.
This is because they want to keep ownership of the land and make money from parking fees.
This is expected to help make it easier for people to use the metro by providing places to park their cars.
This should also reduce traffic.
The plan is for 20 parking areas near metro stations, like the ones on J M Road, Nagar Road, and Karve Road.
Commuters are expected to benefit.
PMC identified 20 land plots for parking near Pune Metro stations.
The civic body plans to independently develop parking areas.
This approach allows PMC to retain land ownership and generate income.
The lack of parking has caused inconvenience for metro commuters.
Commuters and civic activists welcome the move.
