Norwegian Court Convicts Islamist in 2022 Pride Attack
A man named Zaniar Matapour shot people at a gay bar in Oslo during a pride celebration in 2022.
Two people died, and many others were hurt.
Another man, Arfan Bhatti, was found guilty of helping plan the attack.
He was in Pakistan when it happened.
The court said Bhatti has a serious mental health condition but is still responsible for his actions.
Both men were sentenced to 30 years in prison, which is the longest possible sentence in Norway.
The police were criticized for not acting on a warning they got before the attack.
A Norwegian court found Arfan Bhatti guilty of complicity in the 2022 Pride attack.
Two people died and eight were wounded in the shooting at London Pub in Oslo.
Bhatti was sentenced to 30 years in prison, the maximum under Norwegian law.
Bhatti was found to have a severe dissocial personality disorder and psychopathy.
Police could have prevented the attack if they had acted on a foreign tip-off.
