Chennai Officials Seal Commercial Building for Violations
Imagine a store built bigger than it was supposed to be.
In Chennai, a big store called Saravana Stores added extra rooms on top and changed the parking area into a shop.
This broke the rules!
People complained because the store was too big and caused traffic jams.
Even though the city checked it many times, the store owners didn't fix anything.
So, the city had to close the store down until they fix the problems.
A commercial building owned by Saravana Stores in K K Nagar, Chennai was sealed.
The building was sealed due to multiple planning and structural violations.
Violations included additional floors, conversion of parking space, and lack of setbacks.
Despite complaints and inspections since 2020, the owners didn't rectify the issues.
The Greater Chennai Corporation took action after an appeal for rectification failed.
