Vedanta Aluminium Posts Record Quarterly Output in September

Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd made more aluminium in the September 2026 quarter than in the same period a year earlier.

Its production reached 649,000 tonnes, which the company said was a quarterly record.

It credited a new smelter and better efficiency at existing production lines.

The company also reported higher alumina production, a material used to make aluminium.

Its value-added aluminium output rose too.

The company said demand from car makers and other Indian industries helped support that increase.

Its operations include sites in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

The article reports an alumina comparison of 895,000 tonnes against 53,000 tonnes while also stating growth of 37%; those figures do not appear consistent.
