11 Trained Women Win Panchayat Seats
In a recent election, 11 women who received leadership training from an organization called Democratic Sangha won seats as ward members in their local village councils.
These women come from communities that are often left out and were part of a bigger group of 18 women who took part in the elections.
They had a special training program for a year to help them become better leaders.
A big event was held to celebrate their success, where important people like the district collector praised them for their achievement.
The organization that trained them promised to keep supporting these women as they start their new roles in helping their communities.
11 women trained under the Rural Women’s Leadership Programme (RWLP) won ward member seats in Karimnagar district's gram panchayat elections.
The women represent socially and economically marginalized communities and were trained by the NGO Democratic Sangha.
A felicitation ceremony was held at Kala Bharathi in Karimnagar, attended by district collector Pamela Satpathy.
The collector emphasized the importance of women's participation in strengthening local governance and urged transparency and inclusivity.
