Rajasthan sanitation workers' stir gets BJP backing, Congress joins

Sanitation workers in the Indian state of Rajasthan clean the streets and keep cities tidy.

Some of these workers were waiting a very long time to be officially hired.

They were upset about the delayed appointments.

So they gathered at the city office and held a sit-in protest.

A government minister named Sanjay Sharma came to support them.

He is the Forest Minister in the state's ruling BJP government.

Then leaders from the Congress party also joined the protest.

A Congress leader named Aryan Zubair Khan sat beside the minister and asked for the workers to be hired.

The minister also said he was unhappy with two city officials.

Many people hope the workers will get their jobs soon.
