G20 Finance Talks Focus on Investment, Bank Rules, Iran Sanctions

Finance leaders from the Group of Twenty met in Asheville, North Carolina.

Kevin Warsh said businesses and governments are investing more money around the world.

He said this investment is helping economies grow.

He also said the world is no longer mainly dealing with too much saving and too little investment.

Scott Bessent argued that small banks should face fewer rules.

He said this could help them lend more money to small businesses and families.

Bessent also said the United States plans to sanction another Iranian bank to pressure Iran’s government.

The European Union said it supports working with the United States and others to increase economic pressure on Iran.
