India Weighs Tripling FDI Approval Threshold to Rs 15,000 Crore

India is a big country where companies from other countries like to invest money.

When they invest a lot of money, India's government needs to say yes first.

Right now, any investment bigger than 5,000 crore rupees needs a special government committee to approve it.

That committee is called the CCEA, and it did not meet very often last year.

The government is thinking about changing the rule.

Under the new rule, only investments bigger than 15,000 crore rupees would need that committee.

Smaller investments could be approved faster by the department in charge.

Faster approvals make companies happier.

When companies are happy, they bring more money and jobs to India.

This idea could help India compete with other countries for global investment.
