Chennai Restricts Heavy Vehicles During Modi’s October 11 Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Chennai on October 11.
The city’s traffic police have set special routes for commercial and heavy vehicles.
The changes apply from 8 a.m.
until 4:30 p.m.
Drivers will be redirected at several junctions around the city.
Some routes lead toward places such as Kundrathur Road, Koyambedu, Maduravoyal and Velachery.
Police say the arrangements are meant to help traffic move smoothly and keep people safe.
They have asked drivers and transport operators to plan their trips.
They should also follow the directions given by traffic personnel.
Commercial and heavy vehicles face diversions in Chennai on October 11 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
Tambaram-bound traffic from Pallavaram is redirected at International Airport Junction, while vehicles from Tambaram are diverted at Tiruneermalai toward Kundrathur Road.
Diversions around Ashok Nagar, CIPET, Porur Toll Plaza and Ramapuram route vehicles toward Koyambedu or KK Nagar, Guindy Industrial Estate, Maduravoyal or Arasamaram Junction.
At Gandhimandapam Junction, vehicles from Old Mahabalipuram Road, Sardar Patel Road and Gandhimandapam Salai are directed toward CPT; Velachery Main Road traffic is diverted toward Velachery at Guru Nanak Junction.
Police also specified a diversion at the MC Raja U-turn on Anna Salai and urged motorists and transport operators to follow routes and plan ahead.
