Bangladesh scraps Liberation War interview project
The government of Bangladesh has decided to stop a big project that was started by the previous government.
This project was about recording the stories of people who fought in the 1971 Liberation War.
The new government says the videos are not good and don't show the real history correctly.
They think these videos might give a wrong idea about the war to future generations.
The company that made the videos says the decision is unfair.
The project cost a lot of money and included many interviews and documentaries.
Now, the videos will not be saved, and the company won't be paid for their work.
Bangladesh's current administration has scrapped a Rs. 50-crore project to preserve the history of the 1971 Liberation War.
The project, initiated by the Awami League government in 2022, included video interviews of about 15,000 participants.
The current administration found inconsistencies and poor quality in the recorded interviews, fearing a negative impression on future generations.
The project was titled 'Birer Kante Bir Gatha (Heroes Voice Heroic Tales)' and included 80,000 documentaries and 80,000 YouTube contents.
The contractor, Management and Training International Limited (MTI), claims the decision to cancel the videos was intentional and unfair.
