Delhi Revives Tikri-Khampur Market Plan for Decongestion
Imagine a really busy fruit and vegetable market called Azadpur, which is super crowded.
The government wants to build a new, less-crowded market in Tikri-Khampur to help.
This idea started way back in 1997 but faced many delays, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now, officials plan to create a detailed plan within a month to finally build this new market.
The goal is to move the big trucks that bring in fruits and vegetables to the new market, so the old one isn't so packed.
This will hopefully make things easier for everyone and reduce traffic.
Delhi government is reviving the Tikri-Khampur wholesale market project.
The project aims to decongest the Azadpur mandi.
A master plan is to be prepared within a month.
The facility will be built on a 70-acre land acquired in 1997.
A fund of about Rs 280 crore was set aside in 2017 for the construction.
