Delhi MCD Launches Drone Survey to Improve Property Tax Assessment

Delhi MCD Launches Drone Survey to Improve Property Tax Assessment

Delhi’s civic agency is using drones to look at buildings from above.

The project is being tested in two wards.

Officials will compare the pictures and maps with existing property records.

This may show if a building has extra floors or construction that was not recorded.

It may also find duplicate or incorrectly mapped records.

The agency can compare the size owners declared with the actual built-up area.

Officials say this could make property tax records more accurate.

They also expect fewer in-person inspections and faster handling of complaints.
