Akhilesh Yadav Promises to Reopen 26,000 UP Schools

Akhilesh Yadav is the leader of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.

He said more than 26,000 schools had been closed while the BJP government was in charge.

He promised to reopen them if his party wins the 2027 state election.

He said government schools and education would be important priorities.

He also promised more representation for backward classes, Dalits and minorities.

Days earlier, he had promised women annual assistance of Rs 40,000.

Yadav questioned a government promise to provide one lakh jobs before the election.

He also accused the government of problems involving roads, crime, departments and corruption.

These statements were political claims and promises made ahead of the election.
