Security Forces Bust Maoist Arms Facility in Chhattisgarh
Security forces in Chhattisgarh found and destroyed a secret place where Maoists were making weapons.
They took away many weapons and materials used to make more weapons and explosives.
The police said this was a big success because it stopped the Maoists from causing trouble.
They also found some clothes and books that the Maoists were using.
The police are very happy because they have been able to stop many Maoists from doing bad things in the area.
They will keep working to make sure the area is safe and peaceful.
Security forces destroyed a Maoist weapons manufacturing facility in the forest hills near Meenagatta village, Sukma district, Chhattisgarh.
The operation was conducted on December 18 based on intelligence inputs, involving the 150th battalion of the CRPF and local police.
Recovered items included eight single-shot rifles, 15 12-bore cartridges, five electric detonators, 30 metres of Cordex wire, 2 kg PEK explosive, 1 kg ANFO explosive, 10 kg ammonium nitrate, eight wireless VHF sets, one welding machine, and Maoist uniforms and literature.
Initial investigations suggest that the facility was used by Maoists to escalate armed activities in the region, and its destruction has been described as a significant blow to the Maoists.
Since January 2024, 599 Maoists have surrendered, 460 have been arrested, and 71 neutralised in Sukma, with the police committed to continuing operations to uproot Maoist activities.
