Rajasthan CM hails 'fighters for democracy' for Emergency struggle

From June 1975 to March 1977, India had a difficult time called the Emergency.

During this time, many people were put in jail because they spoke up to protect democracy.

These brave people are called 'fighters for democracy.'

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, held a special ceremony to honour them.

He said their struggle was historic and important.

He told young people that the democracy they have today was made possible by these sacrifices.

He asked the former prisoners to write down their stories so they are not forgotten.

He also said the government would save these written experiences.

The Chief Minister said these fighters can help guide the nation because they lived through the Emergency.
