Video of Ex-MP Prajwal Revanna Using Phone Inside Bengaluru Jail

There is a man named Prajwal Revanna in India who used to be a member of parliament.

He is in a jail in the city of Bengaluru because of serious charges related to a crime.

Some news reports say he is a convicted prisoner serving a life sentence, while others say he is only accused.

A video went online that seems to show him talking on a mobile phone inside his jail cell.

Prisoners are usually not allowed to have phones, and the video shows him wearing his own coloured clothes instead of the jail uniform.

Police searched the jail and found a phone and a pen drive in his part of the prison.

A leader named Priyank Kharge, who is in charge of home affairs in Karnataka, said he ordered the search after visiting the jail and seeing mistakes.

Because of this, jail officials have ordered an investigation and one jail officer was suspended.

The man was moved from his special room to a regular cell with about 20 other prisoners and told to wear the uniform and help in the library.

People are asking whether jail security is strong enough, and the police are still investigating.
