Astrophotographer Captures SpaceX Rocket Cutting Through Solar Chromosphere
An astrophotographer named Andrew McCarthy took a unique picture of a SpaceX rocket flying in front of the Sun.
The photo shows the rocket as a black shape against the Sun's bright surface.
This image captures a layer of the Sun called the chromosphere, which is usually hard to see.
McCarthy used a special telescope and camera to take the photo, making sure to get the timing just right.
This picture is special because it shows the beauty of space and the technology of humans working together.
Astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy captured the SpaceX Falcon 9 transiting the Sun's chromosphere.
The image was taken from a Florida wildlife refuge, eight miles west of Cape Canaveral.
The photograph uses hydrogen-alpha light to reveal details of the chromosphere.
The launch was part of the Starlink 10-57 mission.
It's believed to be the first image of its kind, showcasing the intersection of science and art.
