Ranbir Kapoor Defends Lord Rama Casting Amid Backlash
Ranbir Kapoor is a famous Indian actor who was chosen to play the hero Lord Rama in a new movie called Ramayana: Part 1.
Some people online said he doesn’t look like the hero they imagine.
Ranbir said there isn’t one perfect actor for the job, and that the most important thing is to act with honesty and faith.
He also said he will play another character, Lord Parshurama, in the same film.
His co‑star Yash praised his work, saying it is very hard to play Lord Rama.
The movie will come out on Diwali 2026 and stars other well‑known actors like Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol.
Ranbir Kapoor says there is no single right actor to play Lord Rama, addressing online criticism.
He explains the role’s responsibility is to represent the deity with sincerity and faith, not to match a fixed image.
Co‑star Yash praises Ranbir’s performance, calling it "marvellous" and noting the role’s difficulty.
Ranbir will also portray Lord Parshurama, preparing for both roles by studying their distinct spiritual traits.
The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, is set to release its first part on Diwali 2026.
