Bhagwat: India's nationhood differs from West
Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, spoke about how India's idea of being a nation is different from how the West sees it.
He said India doesn't like arguments and prefers to live in peace with others.
He explained that India's concept of a 'rashtra' is about people living together and respecting nature, not about being proud or arrogant like some Western ideas of nationalism.
He also talked about how true happiness comes from helping others, not just being successful.
Bhagwat also discussed the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and globalisation, emphasizing that AI should be used for the benefit of mankind and that India's concept of globalisation is 'vasudhaiva kutumbakam' or 'the world is one family'.
India's concept of 'rashtra' is ancient, organic, and fundamentally different from the Western idea of a nation.
Bhagwat asserted that Mahatma Gandhi's observation about Indians lacking unity before British rule was a false narrative shaped by colonial teaching.
India's nationhood is based on deep interconnectedness among people and their coexistence with nature, not arrogance or pride.
Bhagwat emphasized the importance of using artificial intelligence (AI) for the benefit of mankind and maintaining dignity while dealing with it.
He also discussed globalisation, stating that India's concept of globalisation is 'vasudhaiva kutumbakam' or 'the world is one family'.
