College Uses Coconut Shells to Grow and Gift Saplings
A college in rural Bengal found a clever way to help the environment.
Instead of using plastic pots for young trees, they use coconut shells.
They collect saplings of different trees that grow naturally.
These saplings are then planted in coconut shells and grown until they're ready to give away.
This year, they gave away about 35 saplings.
They hope to give away even more next year, showing that even small actions can help the planet.
This method teaches people about taking care of the environment.
Asannagar College grows saplings in discarded coconut shells.
The college gives saplings away to the local community for free.
The project aims to demonstrate an eco-friendly alternative to plastic.
Around 35 saplings were prepared and gifted this year.
The college hopes to produce more saplings next year.
