Andhra Pradesh Prioritizes Waste Management
The minister in charge of cities in Andhra Pradesh told all city officials to focus on cleaning up trash and sewage.
He also launched new websites for the state's cities, including a special AI helper called Puramitra.
This AI can answer questions and help people with city services.
The minister said all old trash should be cleaned up by the end of March, and the new websites will make it easier for people to find information and pay for services.
The state is also working on big water and sewage projects that will be finished in two years.
Minister Ponguru Narayana directed officials to prioritize solid and liquid waste management in all municipalities.
New websites were launched for the MA&UD Directorate and all 123 municipalities, integrated through a comprehensive dashboard.
The websites offer a single digital window for municipal services, notifications, and official updates, including an AI-powered virtual assistant named Puramitra.
The minister set a deadline of March 31 to clear legacy waste and convert reclaimed sites into parks.
The state government is implementing drinking water supply and underground drainage projects under AMRUT and other schemes, expected to be completed within two years.
