IEWG Completes Telangana Caste Survey Analysis Report
The Telangana government asked experts to look at a big survey about different social groups, also known as castes.
These experts have now finished a report based on this survey.
This report uses a new method to see how much each of the 242 castes may be struggling in society, like being behind in education or jobs.
They give each caste a score to show how they compare to the others.
The report is almost ready to be given to the government, who will then decide what to do with the information.
Independent Expert Working Group (IEWG) finalized its report on Telangana's Caste Survey.
The report analyzes the Social, Education, Employment, Economic, Political, Caste (SEEEPC) survey data.
The IEWG developed a model to measure socio-economic backwardness using a Composite Backwardness Index (CBI).
The CBI assigns a backwardness score and rank to each of the 242 castes identified.
The report, approximately 300 pages, will be submitted to the government shortly.
