RACE Phase-II Enhances Police Communication in Remote Areas
The police in Andhra Pradesh have started a new project called RACE Phase-II to help them talk to each other better in faraway and hard-to-reach places.
The DGP, who is the head of the police, opened new special vehicles and equipment that will help the police stay connected even when regular phone networks don't work.
These vehicles are like small communication centers on wheels.
They will be very useful during emergencies, disasters, and big events.
The project cost Rs 2 crore and will help eight districts.
The police say these vehicles have been very helpful in the past, like during a boat accident, and will make the state safer.
RACE Phase-II vehicles and equipment were inaugurated by DGP Harish Kumar Gupta in Mangalagiri.
The project aims to provide reliable communication in remote and disaster-prone areas where commercial networks often fail.
RACE vehicles function as self-contained mobile communication centers for uninterrupted communication.
Rs 2 crore was allocated for Phase-II to supply 8 four-wheelers and 16 two-wheelers to eight districts.
The system offers advantages like instant command and control, rapid response during emergencies, and improved coordination among various departments.
