Kakinada Government General Hospital is getting new machines to improve cancer treatment.

ONGC is providing support through its corporate social responsibility programme.

The project will cost ₹36.65 crore.

One machine will aim radiation more precisely at tumours.

Another machine will create detailed images to show where tumours are located.

The hospital currently uses a cobalt machine to treat about 25 patients each day.

The new facility could help 60 to 70 patients daily.

Eligible patients will receive the treatment free of cost at the hospital.
