India's Electronics Manufacturing Sees 8X Export Growth
India has become a big player in making electronics.
Over the last 11 years, the country has made six times more electronics and sent eight times more electronics to other countries.
This growth is mostly because of mobile phones, with the number of mobile phone factories going from just 2 to over 300.
The government has also started special programs to help make computer chips in India.
These programs have brought in a lot of money and created many jobs.
Now, India is also designing advanced computer chips and has become an important place for big global companies to set up their design centers.
India's electronics production surged from Rs 1.9 lakh crore in 2014-15 to Rs 11.32 lakh crore in 2024-25.
Electronics exports climbed from Rs 38,000 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 3.26 lakh crore in 2024-25.
Mobile phone manufacturing grew from 2 units in 2014 to over 300 in 2025.
The PLI scheme attracted Rs 14,065 crore in investments for electronics and Rs 846 crore for IT hardware.
