Tirupati Officials Told to Finalise Local Poll Reservation Schedules

Officials in Tirupati are preparing reservation schedules for upcoming local elections.

Joint Collector R Govinda Rao told them to finish the work on time and follow government rules.

They will use population figures from the 2011 Census.

Voter information collected by local officials has already been checked and uploaded to the state election portal.

Reservations for some posts will be decided by the state, while district officials will decide others.

For ward seats, officials will consider the populations of several social groups and women.

They must review the schedules together and prepare to publish them once state orders arrive.

They were also asked to address possible legal problems early.
