Delhi Schools Release Nursery Admission Criteria for 2026-27
Delhi's private schools have started sharing their rules for nursery admissions for the year 2026-27.
The most important factor for most schools is how close the child lives to the school.
Some schools give up to 80 points out of 100 for living nearby.
Other factors include having siblings already in the school, parents who were once students there, or being a staff member's child.
The Delhi government has set a schedule for when schools must share their rules and when parents can apply.
Schools can only charge a small fee of Rs 25 and must follow strict rules to be fair.
The process will end by March 19, 2026.
Distance from school is the most weighted factor in nursery admissions, with some schools assigning up to 80 points out of 100.
Application forms will be available from December 4, with the first list of selected candidates to be released on January 23.
Other criteria include sibling preference, alumni connection, and staff wards, with varying points assigned by different schools.
The Directorate of Education (DoE) has set strict guidelines, including a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 25 and prohibiting capitation fees.
The entire admission process is scheduled to conclude on March 19, with multiple deadlines for schools to upload details and release lists.
