Wrong EPF Dates Can Complicate PF Transfers, Withdrawals and Pensions

Wrong EPF Dates Can Complicate PF Transfers, Withdrawals and Pensions

Your EPF account keeps track of when you started and left each job.

These dates help show how long you worked and contributed money.

If a date is wrong, moving your PF to a new job can become difficult.

It can also cause problems when you want to withdraw your savings.

Pension calculations may be affected too, especially if you are near 10 years of eligible service.

A wrong date does not automatically erase your PF balance or stop interest.

Members with Aadhaar-validated UANs may be able to correct dates themselves.

Missing exit dates can generally be updated after 60 days from leaving a job.

Employees should check their service history soon after changing jobs.
