BMC Adds 30 New Mini Compactors for Garbage Collection
The BMC in Mumbai has added 30 new small garbage trucks called mini compactors.
These trucks are blue and white and can carry more garbage than the old ones.
They will help collect trash from crowded areas and slums.
The BMC plans to add more trucks in the next two years.
Mumbai produces a lot of trash every day, and these new trucks will help manage it better.
BMC inducted 30 new mini compactors for garbage collection, the first addition in 15 years.
The new vehicles have a capacity of 5 metric tonnes of waste daily, double the capacity of the old ones.
The vehicles are painted blue and white and are deployed across all 25 municipal wards.
The compact size allows them to navigate through narrow slum areas for efficient garbage collection.
BMC plans to add a total of 800 new trucks and compactors over the next two years.
