Kolkata Police Run Lane Discipline Drive for Two-Wheeler Riders

Police in Kolkata wanted to help people who ride motorcycles and scooters stay safe on busy roads.

They set up a special practice area on a road called EM Bypass.

Riders were asked to ride straight through a very narrow lane, only about one foot wide.

They also had to stop exactly at a painted stop line.

Many riders could not do this, so police said they failed the test.

Staying in your lane and stopping properly is called lane discipline.

After the pandemic, more people started riding two-wheelers because they wanted to avoid public transport.

New riders often get nervous when a bigger vehicle passes by and can lose control.

Police are worried because many crashes happen at night on fast roads like EM Bypass.

They want everyone to be careful so nobody loses their life or property.
