ECI Issues Notices to UP Parties for Non-Compliance
The Election Commission of India (ECI) is making sure political parties follow the rules.
They sent notices to 127 parties in Uttar Pradesh.
These parties didn't send in their financial reports on time, which they should do every year.
They also failed to file reports on how they spent money during elections.
The parties have a chance to explain why they missed the deadlines.
They need to send in documents or appear for a hearing in October 2025.
If they don't respond, the ECI will assume they have nothing to say and might take action.
The Chief Electoral Office of Uttar Pradesh issued show-cause notices to 127 political parties.
The notices are for not submitting annual audited accounts for three financial years.
Parties also failed to file election expenditure statements within the required timeframe.
Representations can be submitted by October 3, 2025.
Personal hearings are scheduled for October 6-9, 2025.
