UP Jails to Get Gyms for Inmate Well-being
The government of Uttar Pradesh is making jails better by adding gyms!
They're putting gyms in 75 jails and a training center to help inmates feel better, both in their bodies and minds.
This is part of a bigger plan to help people in jail get back on their feet in a healthy way.
They've set aside almost 2 crore rupees to pay for the gyms and get all the equipment installed quickly.
The idea is that staying active can help inmates manage stress, make jails safer, and help with their rehabilitation.
It's like giving everyone a chance to work out and feel healthier while they're serving their time.
Uttar Pradesh government approved opening gyms in 75 jails and one training institute.
The project aims to boost inmates' physical and mental well-being.
Rs 1.9 crore sanctioned for the project in the fiscal year 2024-25.
Officials expect the equipment installation to be completed soon.
The initiative aligns with the state's focus on rehabilitation and health-centric correctional practices.
