Jodhpur RIFF's SAZ Concert Brings Desert Music to Mumbai
Imagine a group of talented musicians from Rajasthan, called SAZ, are putting on a special show in Mumbai!
They play beautiful folk music and sing old songs from their villages.
They will be joined by a Kathak dancer and a saxophonist to create exciting new sounds, blending the traditions of Rajasthan with other music styles.
The show is organized by Jodhpur RIFF, who supports artists and helps them share their music with everyone.
It's a chance to experience unique music and enjoy a vibrant cultural experience.
Jodhpur RIFF presents "SAZ and Friends: When the Desert Plays" at the Royal Opera House in Mumbai.
The performance features SAZ, a Rajasthani folk trio from the Langa community.
SAZ will perform their signature set "Rang-e-Thar" and collaborate with Kathak dancer Tarini Tripathi.
The Cool Desert Project will showcase a collaboration between SAZ and Mumbai-based saxophonist Rhys Sebastian.
The event is commissioned and produced by Jodhpur RIFF, under the Mehrangarh Museum Trust.
