Man Killed After Objecting to Daughter’s Alleged Harassment
A 55-year-old man named Hasmat Ali Khan was attacked at his home in Hyderabad.
Police said he had objected to a young man allegedly harassing his daughter.
The suspect, Mohammed Hameed, allegedly entered the house with a knife.
Hasmat was stabbed several times and died.
His 16-year-old son Omar was also hurt while trying to help.
Omar is in critical condition in a hospital intensive-care unit.
Police are checking security-camera footage and looking for the suspect.
A murder and attempted-murder case has been filed.
Hasmat Ali Khan, 55, was allegedly stabbed to death in Bagh-e-Jahara, Hyderabad.
Police said he had confronted Mohammed Hameed, 27, over alleged harassment of his daughter.
Hasmat’s 16-year-old son, Omar Ali Khan, was also stabbed while trying to intervene.
Omar is in critical condition and receiving treatment in the ICU at Osmania General Hospital.
Madannapet police registered murder and attempted-murder cases and formed two teams to find the suspect.
