Haryana Announces 100-Day Anaemia Campaign Starting September 17

Haryana is starting a 100-day campaign to reduce anaemia, a condition linked to low iron in the body.

The campaign will begin on September 17.

It will help several groups, including children, pregnant women and low-birth-weight babies.

Health workers will provide iron and folic acid, testing, treatment and deworming.

They will also give advice about healthy foods rich in iron.

A system called Test, Treat, Talk and Track will help workers follow each identified case.

Officials say anaemia levels have already fallen among several groups in Haryana.

They want districts to continue improving rather than slow down.
