Lokayukta Blames Officials for Bengaluru Flooding, Cites Negligence
The Karnataka Lokayukta, a government body investigating the Bengaluru floods, said that the flooding happened because officials weren't doing their jobs properly and didn't work together.
They ordered officials to clean the drains, make sure water can flow freely, and get rid of any construction that blocks the drains.
They are also looking into why specific areas flooded, like near the Silk Board junction.
The Lokayukta created a committee to find solutions, and it will report back on June 3.
Karnataka Lokayukta blamed officials for negligence and lack of coordination in Bengaluru flooding.
Lokayukta directed officials to expedite drain desilting and encroachment removal.
Silk Board junction flooding was attributed to BMRCL's metro pillar obstructing drain flow.
Lokayukta formed a committee to find holistic solutions and submit them by June 3.
The Lokayukta investigated flooding at multiple locations, including Manyata Tech Park and Panathur Railway underpass.
