MobiKwik Reports Widened Loss in Q4 Despite GMV Surge
Imagine a company called MobiKwik that lets people pay for things online.
In the last few months, they made less money than they spent, resulting in a loss.
Although the company made a loss, the amount of money that moved through their payment systems (like their wallet and UPI) grew a lot - more than double!
They are also getting more customers and merchants.
MobiKwik's main goal is to use AI to help it make more money, by getting its products out there quicker, by helping sales, and by making more money out of each sale.
MobiKwik reported a consolidated loss of Rs 56 crore for Q4 FY25, a significant increase from Rs 0.6 crore in Q4 FY24.
Revenue from operations slightly increased to Rs 267.7 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 264.9 crore in Q4 FY24.
Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) surged 203% year-over-year to Rs 1,15,900 crore.
For FY25, MobiKwik posted a loss of Rs 121.5 crore, reversing a profit of Rs 14 crore in FY24.
The company added 20.6 million new users, reaching a total of 176.4 million, and its merchant network grew to 4.6 million.
