Gen Z and Millennials Bring New Energy to Hyderabad Onam
Onam is an important festival celebrated by people from Kerala.
In Hyderabad, young Malayalis are adding new ideas to the celebrations.
They organized a rally where people wore traditional clothes and visited famous places.
A new band made up of office workers played songs in several Indian languages.
Nursing students performed a play and sang songs connected with boat races.
These activities helped people from different regions learn about Onam.
The Kerala Association of Hyderabad has held events for 10 days.
The celebrations include traditional customs, friendship between communities and charitable activities.
Hyderabad’s Malayali community began this year’s Onam celebrations with the Onam Sarkeet ride-and-drive rally.
Participants in traditional clothing visited important and historic landmarks, taking part in briefings and activities.
Corp Mallu Band, formed by corporate employees, performed Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, English and Tamil songs at Lulu Mall.
