Delhi BLOs Visit Homes to Help Voters Resolve SIR Notices
Election officials in parts of Delhi are visiting voters at home.
They are helping people who received notices about problems in their voter records.
The officers explain which documents are needed.
Sometimes, they take the documents to the election office themselves.
This is meant to help people who cannot leave work during office hours.
Getting a notice does not automatically remove someone from the voter list.
People will have a chance to explain their case and appeal.
The final voter list is expected on November 4.
Booth-level officers in parts of New Delhi are visiting homes to help voters respond to Special Intensive Revision notices.
BLOs are explaining required documents and, in some cases, collecting and submitting them to election offices.
The Delhi chief electoral officer said receiving a notice does not mean a voter’s name will be deleted.
Some 33.13 lakh electors were identified for notices over discrepancies, while the draft roll contains more than 97 lakh electors.
The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 4, after notices are disposed of by October 29.
