Guwahati CCTV Surveillance Project Nears Midpoint
Imagine the city of Guwahati is getting a bunch of new eyes to watch over everything.
This means they're putting up 2,000 cameras to help keep people safe and watch the traffic.
It's like having lots of helpers looking out for problems!
Right now, they've finished about half of the work.
Some cameras are already working, and they're putting up poles to hold the rest.
The cameras will connect with underground cables and will even have backup power if the lights go out.
It's a big project to make sure everyone is safe and things run smoothly.
Guwahati's CCTV project is approximately 45% complete, with a target completion date of September.
The project aims to install 2,000 cameras across the city to improve public safety and traffic monitoring.
100 CCTV cameras are operational, with 650 cantilever poles installed in areas like Chandrapur and Khanapara.
The project has a budget of Rs 220 crore and was initiated two years ago.
Challenges include obstacles from power and water infrastructure, but authorities are coordinating with relevant departments.
