Hindus in Gujarat demand regulation on Christmas events
In some villages in Gujarat, Hindu people are worried about Christmas events.
They think these events might be used to convert people to Christianity without following the proper rules.
So, they have asked the local government to only allow Christmas events if the people organizing them are officially registered as Christians.
They say that Christian groups are building churches and trying to change the culture of the villages.
The Hindu groups want to protect their culture and traditions.
The government has not yet responded to their request.
Hindu residents in Dharampur and Kaprada talukas demand permission for Christmas events only to registered Christians.
Applications submitted to the Mamlatdar’s office citing concerns over illegal religious conversions and cultural erosion.
Hindu organisations allege that Christmas events are used for proselytising and converting tribal Hindus.
Local Hindus report increased church construction and illegal conversion activities in remote villages.
Government response pending as authorities have not yet addressed the demands.
